State Scorecards

A state scorecard turns complex voting records into clear, actionable insights. They show how members of state legislatures vote on issues that matter most to an organization and the public. Rather than sorting through hundreds of bills and complex voting records, scorecards give you a quick snapshot of where each legislator stands—and how closely their votes align with your values.

Every year, state legislatures consider hundreds of bills, amendments, and votes. For most people, keeping track of all of that activity, along with constant bill changes, is unrealistic. State scorecards bridge that gap by offering:

  • Clear summaries of priority legislation
  • Straightforward comparisons of lawmakers
  • Easy-to-understand grades, scores and rankings
  • See who is supporting or opposing your priorities

How Our Scorecards Work

You choose the bills that align with your mission. We handle the rest.

Organizations select and score legislation based on their values and priorities. Our Legislator Scoring Engine™ automatically evaluates each legislator’s votes and calculates accurate, up-to-date scores—displayed as percentages, letter grades, or point totals. Legislators can then be ranked for easy comparison.

Some scorecards also include:

  • Bonus points for sponsoring or championing key legislation
  • Neutral designations for bills not directly scored, but are being monitored
  • Bill Summaries for each bill or action
